Based on a T.R.U. Story is the debut studio album by 2 Chainz, released on August 14th, 2012, through Def Jam Recordings / Universal Music Group.

Based On A T.R.U. Story features other top rap artists such as Drake, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj and Playaz Circle cohort Dolla Boy. The album’s production was handled by Mike Will, Sonny Digital, Kanye West, Hit-Boy, Drumma Boy, DJ Mustard, Mr. Bangladesh, DJ Spinz, among others.

“No Lie“, which features Drake was the lead single for the album, released on May 8, 2012. The single was produced by produced by Mike Will.

The second single was “Birthday Song” which features Kanye West was released on July 24, 2012.
